Kennesaw State University’s Convocation Center echoed with sounds of jubilation this week as students participated in the time-honored tradition of the Commencement ceremonies. This week, nearly 3,000 students will walk across the stage in one of six ceremonies in which undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students will be awarded degrees from the University. Enjoy this look back at the sights and sounds of the week’s festivities. Congratulations to the Class of 2022!

The blue and white cord around her shoulders represents her time as president of KSU’s Institute of Transportation Engineers, the design on top of her mortarboard is a nod to her favorite television show “Friends,” and next to her tassel is a photo of her dad.

Kennesaw State University researcher Christina Scherrer’s studies on school-based dental health programs have shown how effective they can be in reducing tooth decay in elementary-aged children. Now, through a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Scherrer is expanding her research to see if similar programs can also help children in middle school.
